News 18Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday expressed determination to fight the political crisis gripping his government and took rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, saying Shinde’s son is a Lok Sabha MP and should his son Aaditya Thackeray not also grow politically as both sides showed no signs of backing down to break the four-day-old impasse. The 37 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs who are camping in Guwahati on Thursday sent a second letter to Maharashtra Assembly’s Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal, reaffirming that Shinde will remain their group leader in legislature. Earlier in the day, Zirwal had said that he had approved the appointment of Ajay Chaudhary as the group leader of the Shiv Sena legislature party, replacing senior minister Shinde who has rebelled against the Shiv Sena leadership. Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorhe, who is also the Legislative Concil deputy chairperson and addressed the party functionaries, said the rebel MLA group will have to merge with a political party to escape disqualification from the Assembly.
