5 journalists working with Kabul daily Etilaatroz arrested by Taliban in Afghanistan: Reports

India TV News

At least five journalists from Etilaatroz, a daily newspaper in Kabul, have been arrested by Taliban, TOLO News quoted Zaki Daryabi, the editor in chief of the newspaper, as saying. Previously, the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, an umbrella organistaion of armed Islamist groups, has warned the country's media and journalists against calling them a "terrorist outfit" or they will be treated as "enemies". TTP spokesman Mohammad Khurasani, in a statement on social media on Monday, said his organisation was tracking media coverage which branded the TTP with epithets such as “terrorists and extremists”. In its National Action Plan in 2014, the Pakistan government banned offshoot groups of the TTP and stopped the media from its so-called “glorification of militants”.
