"There's no point in me getting another PCR test, just to wait another six days to not get a result," she said. Dr Griffin, an associate professor at the University of Queensland, said PCR testing times had blown out so much, in some cases, they had ceased to be "clinically meaningful". "Using PCR to confirm positive rapid antigen tests is perhaps not the best use of those tests," Dr Griffin said.
