Punjab man on list of deportees from US, yet to return; no contact with family
Navdeep Singh, a resident of Punjab's Ferozepur district who was on the list of deportees from the US, is yet to reach home despite three batches of illegal Indian immigrants arriving in the country since February 5. Navdeep Singh's name appeared on the deportation list twice after two failed attempts to enter the US in just eight months via the illegal "donkey" route. “We have no information about our son's return, as there are no updates on upcoming US deportation flights," Kashmir Singh said, adding that two other deportees -- Saurav from Ferozepur and Gursewak from Rajpura -- also said that Navdeep was suffering from a fever, cough, and dizziness and was hospitalised. As part of Trump's crackdown, the third US military plane carrying 112 Indians landed in Amritsar on February 16 and the first one, with 104 Indian deportees onboard, arrived in the city on February 5.'
