Muslim man who wanted to marry a Hindu thrashed by right-wing members in Bhopal court

Members of a right-wing Hindu outfit on Friday thrashed a Muslim man who had come to a court in Bhopal for paperwork for his marriage to a Hindu woman. According to the police, the incident took place in the afternoon when the man, in his early 20s, a resident of Narsinghpur village in Narmadapuram district, and the woman, 19, who hails from Pipariya in the same district, arrived at the court to meet a lawyer for marriage documentation. Nagar, Akshay Choudhary, however, said the man wanted to “convert” the woman to his faith. Another local police officer, who did not wish to be named, said the men who assaulted the Muslim man were members of the Sanskriti Bachao Manch.
