ABCFrench President Emmanuel Macron has accused Scott Morrison of lying about the $90 billion submarine contract that was cancelled six weeks ago. Key points: Relations with France have tumbled since Australia announced a new security pact with the United States and United Kingdom Mr Macron said Australia's actions were "detrimental to the reputation" of the country and Prime Minister Mr Morrison said he had been clear with Mr Macron over Australia's intentions Mr Macron made the extraordinary accusation after being approached by the ABC on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome. "I was very clear that the conventional submarines were not going to be able to meet our strategic interests and that we would need to make a decision in our national interest," Mr Morrison said. Acting Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said Mr Macron needed to "move on".
