BMRCL to improve Purple Line operations with infrastructure enhancement

Commuters travelling on Bengaluru’s crowded Namma Metro Purple Line may soon experience significant relief as the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited plans to improve train frequency and operational efficiency. Arrival of DTG trains Adding to these infrastructure upgrades, BMRCL recently received its first Distance To Go train from the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation Limited. “The DTG train, the first of 21 six-coach trains ordered by BMRCL, once operational, will provide much-needed relief to commuters on the overcrowded Purple Line,” officials added. According to officials, the delivery of all Purple and Green Line trains will be completed by the first quarter of 2027, with the first locally manufactured DTG train arriving by the end of this year.
