NHAI relays damaged service lane near CMC Ranipet campus on Chennai - Bengaluru Highway
The HinduThe National Highways Authority of India has relaid an entire service lane on the Chennai - Bengaluru Highway near Christian Medical College campus at Puttuthakku village, bringing relief to motorists and drivers. This comes after The Hindu in its news report on December 16 highlighted the plight of motorists and pedestrians, including ambulances, medical staff and patients, who have to use the battered stretch to reach CMC. Parking of vehicles on the service lane has also been prohibited to ensure more road space for motorists,” a NHAI official said. At present, NHAI has diverted all vehicles to use the service lane, which is 20 ft wide, especially towards Bengaluru to facilitate the ongoing vehicular underpass work on the carriageway of the highway.
