ABCSabra Lane: Experts who work with teen boys say some are regularly using their phones to track their girlfriends' whereabouts and demanding to read their texts. Alison Branley: The Queensland man recalls being obsessive and controlling during his early intimate relationships, constantly monitoring girlfriend's social media feeds and limiting their friends to isolate them. Alison Branley: It's at this time in life experts say there's a real opportunity to shift the dial on Australia's family violence crisis through early intervention programs that specifically target boys showing signs of violence. Alison Branley: He's just finished a doctorate on the issue and says these problem behaviours often emerged much earlier than when teens had their first intimate partners. Alison Branley: While the new funding has been welcomed, critics say it's a drop in the ocean in a 4.7 billion dollar family violence budget.
