Sydney news: Man suspends himself from pole in South Sydney protest
ABCHere's what you need to know this morning. A man has suspended himself from a pole as part of a larger protest causing major traffic delays this morning at Port Botany, in Sydney's south. With Parramatta one the of state's fastest-growing cities, with the population expected to grow by more than 200,000 in the next two decades, Planning and Homes Minister Anthony Roberts said an investment of $60 million would support infrastructure and transport networks. NSW Health authorities said the two-year-old Western Sydney boy was "previously well". The University of New South Wales and Australian Council of Social Services have released a report showing regional rents have soared by 18 per cent during the pandemic, partly driven by people's desire for homes rather than apartments.
