Here are the COVID lockdown rules in place for the next three days in Katherine and Greater Darwin
ABCKatherine has entered a three-day hard lockdown, and Greater Darwin has entered its first three-day lockout, after the Northern Territory recorded its first case of community COVID-19 transmission. They are: Medical treatment, including getting a COVID test or getting vaccinated To buy groceries, medicine and other essential goods and services For work that is considered essential and cannot be done at home For one hour of exercise per day, with one other person or household member, and no further than 5 kilometres from your home To provide care to a family member or person who cannot support themselves Like in other lockdowns, you're allowed to leave your home in the case of any kind of emergency or danger, including to escape domestic violence. If you're in Greater Darwin and you are fully vaccinated For the first time, there are different rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Close contact sites: An Equinox fishing charter that left Darwin on Sunday, October 31, and went from 6am to 2pm The Katherine Club in Katherine on Monday, November 1, between 5pm and 6pm Casual contact sites: Katherine Woolworths between 6:30 and 6:50pm on Monday, November 1 Low-risk contact sites: The Noonamah service station in Noonamah on Monday, November 1, at 6:30am Locations of concern: Monsoons Nightclub in Darwin on Friday, October 29 from 10:54pm The Tindal RAAF Base near Katherine was listed as an exposure site for both Monday and Tuesday during the day but has dropped off the list — the government has been contacted for clarification.
