Jayalalithaa biopic: Gautham Menon and AL Vijay to respond to Madras High Court
India TodayThe former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa, breathed her last on December 5, 2016, after being hospitalised for about 75 days. Meanwhile, Deepa Jayakumar, niece of Jayalalithaa filed a plea last week that the directors should get the consent of the family as the film also has portrayed the private life of Jayalalithaa. On hearing the plea, Madras High Court has sent a notice to director Gautham Vasudev Menon who is directing a web series on the politician's life starring Ramya Krishnan. A notice has also been sent to director AL Vijay who is directing a film titled Thalaivi in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. However, when the project Thalaivi was announced early this year, director AL Vijay and producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri had issued a statement saying that they have received a NOC from Deepak, nephew of late Jayalalithaa.
