Will adopt Centre’s wage slabs in Delhi, says AAP govt
Hindustan TimesThe Aam Aadmi Party government on Thursday said it will adopt the central government’s minimum wage slabs so that scheduled employees in the national capital are not impacted by the recent high court order quashing the Delhi government’s proposal for revised minimum wages. Labour minister Gopal Rai told reporters on Thursday the minimum wages offered by the central government are even higher than the 37% hike that was notified by the Delhi government in March last year. Under the GOI slab, currently being offered to scheduled employees of central government departments, skilled workers will get Rs 17,498 per month as against Rs 16,858 under the Delhi government’s March 2017 notification. The minister, however, said implementing the central government’s wage slabs will take about six months and that until then, the existing wages ranging from Rs 9,724 to Rs 11,830 would continue.
