Joe Biden formally clinches Democratic nomination to challenge Donald Trump in presidential polls
India TodayFormer vice president Joe Biden, a votary for strong US-India relations, has formally become the Democratic presidential nominee to run for the White House against President Donald Trump in the elections in November. Joe Biden, 77, on Friday night took his tally of pledged delegates over the halfway mark of 1,991 from a total of 3,979, thus becoming eligible to earn the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. In his remarks after winning a majority of delegates in the Democratic presidential primary, Biden said this is a difficult time in America's history and Trump's angry, divisive politics is no answer. "I am going to spend every day between now and November 3rd fighting to earn the votes of Americans all across this great country so that together we can win the battle for the soul of this nation and make sure that as we rebuild our economy, everyone comes along," Biden said.
