Vadugapatti villagers fear isolation due to lack of median on Tirumangalam-Sengottai fourway highway
The HinduVillagers of Vadugapatti in Watrap taluk feel that their village might get isolated with the new fourway highway being laid on Tirumangalam-Sengottai stretch without an opening in the concrete median for them to take right turn from the highway to enter the village from Srivilliputtur and from the village towards Madurai. Though the village has got only some 100 families living, Vadugapatti being the head village for the panchayat, scores of people from other villages like Kalathur, Nagalapuram and Alagapuri come to the office of village administrative officer at Vadugapatti. For, to take a right turn into the village or to come out, the vehicles had go upto Alagapuri for three km. “Giving an opening on the median near the village approach road and putting up barricades to slow down the vehicles on the highway ahead of this junction, will definitely help the villagers,” he said.
