Fernando Meirelles has directed The Two Popes, which is set for a release on Netflix on 20 December. Ahead of the arrival of the film on Netflix next month, the streaming service has released a new trailer for the upcoming drama The Two Popes. Described as the story of one of the “most dramatic transitions of power in the last 2,000 years,” the trailer follows the traditional Pope Benedict XVI as he prepares to hand over the papacy to his successor, the reformist, progressive Cardinal Bergoglio.
