Ex-Amazon techie says workplace is 'horrible' but Jeff Bezos is 'difficult to dislike'

A former Amazon engineer said that working at the e-commerce giant is "horrible" but he did not hold himself back from praising Jeff Bezos for his vision and leadership. "I joined Amazon in 1998 as a technical program manager," Yegge told Business Insider, adding, "I worked my way up and eventually found myself working on a secret project for Jeff Bezos himself." Despite his criticism of Amazon's work environment, Yegge, who said he worked with former Amazon CEO on a 'secret project', admitted he never boycotted the company and still shops there. Yegge, who described Amazon as a "horrible" place to work, also said, "I'm still a customer and don't boycott them because of their practices, though I disagree with some of them."
