Enrolment up in government schools in Andhra Pradesh, says minister
Deccan ChronicleVijayawada: AP finance minister Buggana Rajendranath declared that YSRC government has brought in welfare schemes like Nadu-Nedu and Amma Vodi to increase enrolment of students in government schools to 42 lakh from 37 lakh during the TD regime. Addressing media here on Thursday, he refuted allegations of Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu that YSRC government had closed down 6,000 government schools because of which the number of students in government schools had fallen by 4 lakh. Rajendranath produced at the press conference records explaining that in fact when Telugu Desam government came to power in 2014, there had been about 42 lakh students in government schools. “However, after our government has come to power, number of students in government schools has once again reached 42 lakh due to special attention paid to government schools,” he underlined.
