Karwar navy hospital takes up treatment of Covid-19 cases

Karwar: INHS Patanjali, the Indian Navy’s hospital at the Karwar naval base, has become the first armed forces hospital to begin treating civilian Covid-19 positive patients. Responding to a request by the Karnataka government, INHS Patanjali received six Covid-19 positive patients for treatment, including three who tested positive on Saturday, from Bhatkal. The isolated COVID-19 Treatment Area at the hospital has independent medical, paramedical and nursing staff providing continuous treatment while residing inside the hospital premises. Uttara Kannada deputy commissioner Harish Kumar said another COVID 19 treatment facility would be ready by next Friday.
