Lightning’s Tyler Johnson could have resurgence after offseason trade rumors

New York Times

Tyler Johnson and his Lightning teammates spent the week after winning the Stanley Cup enjoying the spoils. As Johnson said, “I think the league as a whole was kind of in a little bit of chaos mode there.” “It’s a situation where I think a lot of our names were in trade talks,” said Alex Killorn, a teammate of Johnson’s since their 2012 Calder Cup title run. “I’ve constantly had to work on skating since Day 1,” Johnson said. “We don’t know if we’re going to stay with that the entire camp, but as of now, Johnny’s familiar with that position.” Surprisingly, Johnson has just two power-play goals over the past two seasons. “I think I’m always motivated, especially when you’re on a team like we are where we can do something special,” Johnson said Tuesday.
