
TNSCB projects to come up across State
The HinduThe Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board has set the ball rolling for the resettlement of over 1,500 families who reside on Chennai Metrowater’s conduit pipeline. With the State government recently approving two projects at Athipattu near Ambattur to construct 1,472 tenements at a total cost of Rs.118 crore, residents can expect to move to the stilt + 4 apartments by mid-2014. Apart from the economically weaker section houses with carpet area of 270 sq ft, the TNSCB will also construct 250 middle-income group houses in phase I of Athipattu. The RAY project is programmed till 2017 by which a total of one lakh houses would have been constructed at a cost of Rs. The other projects that have been approved include one on Karikalan Street in Tiruchi where 305 houses are being constructed at a cost of Rs.
