Visakhapatnam: Officials of Simhachalam Devasthanam got a surprise when they found a Rs 100 crore cheque donated to the temple during counting of hundi collections on Wednesday. Counting officials took the cheque to temple executive officer Trinadha Rao. Temple sources said verification of the devotee’s bank account revealed that Radhakrishna had only Rs 22 in his account. In the past too, cheques with fancy amounts have been dropped into the hundi by devotees.” Asked whether the temple files a cheque bounce case in such matters, a temple official said Simhachalam administration ignores such cases, as they are given as donations.
