Lokpal bill should be passed, can be amended later: TDP
Hyderabad: Voicing support for the Lokpal bill which is before the Rajya Sabha, TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu today said the persons selected for the anti-graft institution should have good credentials. Such improvements should be worked out,” he told reporters here.“Even the Lokpal might get corrupt. We see today that CBI has become Congress Bureau of investigation,” he said, adding that to guard against this, “those being selected should be good persons”.Asked about reports that alliance between TDP and BJP is possible for 2014 general elections, Naidu said TDP had always fought against Congress, its founder N T Rama Rao worked for anti-Congress politics and was instrumental in the National Front government coming to power at the Centre.“Among four anti-Congress governments at the Centre so far, three came with the initiative of TDP. I cannot answer to all those now,” he said.Significantly, Naidu attended the swearing-in ceremony of BJP's Shivraj Singh Chouhan as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister yesterday.Some media reports suggested that Naidu could be made the Convener of BJP-led NDA.
