Ensure police protection for abused girl and her family: Kodikkunnil

Police protection should be ensured for the girl who was sexually exploited by many in Pathanamthitta as well as her family, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Congress working committee member Kodikkunnil Suresh, MP, has said. Mr. Suresh said that it was shocking to learn that the girl underwent serious sexual abuse even while she was in the general hospital, Pathanamthitta. The Pinarayi Vijayan government was not interested in seeking justice for the downtrodden and it could not even secure justice for the family of Madhu, the tribal youth who was mob-lynched, Mr. Suresh said. It was the dismissive manner in which the police dealt with cases and the Left government’s total disinterest in pursuing such cases to the finish that led to a spike in crimes against women, Mr. Suresh alleged.
