Apple explains why some 2018 iPad Pro models appear bent in new support page

India Today

Ever since a video by JerryRigsEverything proved the new iPad Pro could bend and break with just a small amount of pressure, some consumers have posted images showing their 2018 iPad Pro unit visibly bent out of the box or after a few weeks of usage. In the page titled "iPad Pro unibody enclosure design," Apple explains that it has used a process called co-molding for its iPad Pro cellular models, which is the variant that has seen the most reports of bending. Apple emphaises that the bend is being reported by consumers using the Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad Pro variant because of the presence of antenna splits that may make "subtle deviations in flatness more visible only from certain viewing angles that are imperceptible during normal use." Apple is also urging consumers who feel their iPad Pro has a bend beyond 400-microns to contact the company's support channels.
