Kamareddy masterplan : Shabbir blames KCR govt for farmers\' suicide
Deccan ChronicleHyderabad: Blaming the suicide of B. Ramulu, a farmer in Kamareddy, over the proposed acquisition of his land for the town master plan, former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that the Congress would back the protesting farmers. Speaking to mediapersons in Gandhi Bhavan along with TPCC senior vice-president Zafar Javed, Shabbir Ali said that the state government had issued a notification for the master plan without involving any of the stakeholders. On other issues, he said that the four per cent reservation for Muslims and permit for minority colleges given by the previous Congress regimes had revolutionised the lives of thousands of poor Muslims in Telangana and AP. This was reflected in the admission into medical colleges this year, where 934 students from minority commuinities had got admission in 42 government and private medical colleges, the highest for any state.
