AP civic poll results reflect YSR Congress' total domination in state; TDP suffers unprecedented setback

For the TDP, the defeat was of such a magnitude that it could reach double digits in terms of seats in only five urban local bodies In a landslide of unprecedented scale that is now being described as a ‘Jagan Wash’, the ruling YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday swept the elections to the urban local bodies in the state. The YSR Congress’ victory assumes even more massive proportions when seen in the context of the fact that it had come a distant second to the TDP in the last urban local body elections. This time, the defeat was of such a magnitude for the TDP that it could reach double digits in terms of seats in only five urban local bodies. Last month, the YSR Congress decimated the TDP in the gram panchayat elections held in the state.
