Sudden deaths among youth not linked to Covid vaccines, JP Nadda tells Parliament
India TodayUnion Health Minister JP Nadda informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that a study by the Indian Council of Medical Research has conclusively shown that Covid-19 vaccination does not increase the risk of unexplained sudden death among young adults in India. The study also identified several factors that increased the risk of sudden death, including a history of Covid-19 hospitalisation, a family history of sudden death, binge-drinking 48 hours before death, use of recreational drugs, and vigorous physical activity within 48 hours before death. Nadda clarified that the study ruled out any connection between Covid-19 vaccination and unexplained sudden deaths among young adults. This study, Nadda said, provides vital clarity regarding the safety of Covid-19 vaccination and counters misconceptions linking it to unexplained sudden deaths.
