Andhra Pradesh Ups the Rewards Game for Athletes: From Rs 75 Lakh to Rs 4 Crore!

Andhra Pradesh is planning to introduce significant incentives for athletes and Olympians. The state government has pledged to increase cash rewards for Olympic medallists, with gold medallists receiving Rs 7 crore, silver medallists Rs 5 crore, and bronze medallists Rs 3 crore. Additionally, the state will provide incentives for Asian Games athletes, with gold medallists receiving Rs 4 crore, silver medallists Rs 2 crore, and bronze medallists Rs 1 crore. The state will also raise the sports employment quota from 2 per cent to 3 per cent, focusing on four key objectives: sports for all, nurture talent, sports ecosystem, and global visibility.
