Human rights panel raises concern over AAP 'using children' for campaigning

India Today

The National Human Rights Commission on Monday, in a letter to the Election Commission, raised concerns about the Aam Aadmi Party allegedly using children for their political campaigning for the upcoming Delhi polls. Taking note, the commission said that it came across a post on X where Chief Minister Atishi and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal had shared a video showing children directly involved in political campaigning activities for the party. The commission also wrote to social media platform X, asking them to remove the post from their platform and submit an "action taken report within 7 days." The human rights panel, while acknowledging that the Model Code of Conduct is yet to be imposed for the upcoming Delhi polls, said that it is "deeply concerned about the participation of children in political campaigning."
