Harry Kane breaks Jimmy Greaves record to become Tottenham’s all-time top scorer
New York TimesHarry Kane has broken Jimmy Greaves’ all-time Tottenham Hotspur goalscoring record. Kane matched Greaves’ 266 goalscoring landmark in last month’s Premier League win against Fulham, before surpassing the tally set in 1970 with a goal 15 minutes into the match against Manchester City. Kane’s double in a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, and then the winner in Tottenham’s FA Cup third-round victory over Portsmouth last weekend, had edged him closer to Greaves’ mark. The Athletic reported last month that Kane’s representatives have not held serious discussions over an exit and though it is well documented that Kane’s wish would be to win trophies at Tottenham, how the club’s campaign ends, as well as their recruitment and prospects of success, are sure to be key factors concerning his future.
