Trump announces plans to sue Justice Department over Mar-a-Lago raid
Raw StoryDonald Trump, a convicted felon who prosecutors contend stored classified information in his Mar-a-Lago estate, is threatening to sue the federal government for raiding the property in pursuit of the top secret documents. Trump Monday afternoon lashed out against a plethora of foes that included an influential member of the Congressional Black Caucus, the special counsel who has accused him of criminal election interference and Espionage Act violations, White House leadership and "lunatics" in general. "Somebody please explain to Rep. James Clyburn, not the brightest bulb in the House, that I am beating the Biden/Harris Prosecutors, like Deranged Jack Smith, whose case against me in Florida, 'the biggest of them all' according to the Radical Left Lunatics, was just 'thrown out' as being Unconstitutional," Trump wrote. Trump's screed arrived as powerful Democrats lined up to support Vice President Kamala Harris, who is primed to claim the presidential nomination President Joe Biden has opted to decline. It also arrived a week after Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the Justice Department's Florida federal court case on the grounds that Smith was improperly appointed.
