YouTube to put more ads in music content to 'frustrate' users and make them switch to its paid streaming service
The number of ads while streaming music on YouTube is about to increase which should ‘frustrate’ the user to opt for the paid music service. YouTube’s music head Lyor Cohen told Bloomberg that the video streaming service will take measures to force users to switch to one of its paid music streaming services. Though YouTube has been in the paid music streaming service for some time now, it has failed to garner as many subscribers as seen on Spotify or Apple Music. The reason for such s huge lead is due to Spotify and Apple Music’s ubiquity and interoperability amongst various platforms, something which the YouTube streaming service is lacking as per the report.
