Young Thug Gets a Free Verdict: Rapper Pleads Guilty to Gang, Drug, and Gun Charges

Rapper Young Thug has been released from custody after pleading guilty to gang, drug and gun charges. He was indicted and arrested in 2022 on charges related to a violent criminal street gang called Young Slime Life, or YSL. The rapper's attorney reached a non-negotiated plea deal with prosecutors, accepting a 40-year sentence that includes 15 years on probation. He must stay away from the metro Atlanta area for the first 10 years of his probation, but he can return to the area four times per year to make anti-gang, anti-gun violence presentations. He cannot participate in criminal street gang activity or promote any gang, including through hand signs.
