Delhi's air quality improves, AQI drops from ‘very poor’ to ‘poor’ for second consecutive day

Delhi's air quality showed improvement as the city's air quality index remained in the ‘poor’ category for the first two days of December, recording 280 on Monday. Since October 30, air quality had been in the ‘very poor’ and ‘severe’ categories. Of the 38 monitoring stations in Delhi, 12 recorded ‘very poor’ air quality on Monday, 25 reported ‘poor,’ and one showed ‘satisfactory’ levels, according to the Sameer app. The Central Pollution Control Board classifies AQI between 0 and 50 as ‘good,’ between 51 and 100 as ‘satisfactory,’ between 101 and 200 as ‘moderate,’ between 201 and 300 as ‘poor,’ between 301 and 400 as ‘very poor,’ and above 400 as ‘severe.’ The primary pollutant on Monday was PM2.5, with levels recorded at 106 µg/m³ at 3 pm.
