Tenders to choose concessionaire for Parandur airport to be floated by March-end

Tenders to choose the concessionaire who will build and manage the second airport planned at Parandur in Kancheepuram district will be floated by the end of March. It is to be noted that a high-level meeting was held last week and the State government reviewed the rehabilitation packages planned for the villagers who would be affected by the project, sources said. The survey and masterplan work for the new sites where the residents of the 13 villages affected by the airport project will be moved to is also in progress, another source said. Meanwhile, the steering committee of the Centre comprising various members had asked the State government to submit a series of reports as part of the process to get the environmental clearance.
