Police say it was “no surprise” when the driver blew 196 during a roadside breath test – almost six times over the limit. Sharing images of the car on Twitter in the early hours of New Year's Day, North West Motorway Police described it as “unbelievable”. The force added: “Male been detained for drink drive on the M66 – has blown 196 at the roadside – as you can see from the photos you can see why it came to our notice.” In August, police stopped a man driving a homemade car made out of a motorbike, plastic, fibreglass and wood along the M25.
