Advanced survey vessel INS Nirdeshak commissioned into Navy

INS Nirdeshak, the second ship of the Survey Vessel project, was officially commissioned into the Indian Navy on Wednesday at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. INS Nirdeshak, which was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers in Kolkata, is one of four advanced survey vessels designed for hydrographic surveys, navigation assistance, and maritime operations. The ship features systems like Multi Beam Echo Sounders, Side Scan Sonars, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, and Remotely Operated Vehicles, enhancing its ability to map oceans accurately, operate in hazardous areas, and perform environmental studies. The new survey ships will make us more potent also, as foreign fleets are looking towards Bharitya Nausena for hydrographic cooperation," he added.
