Mysuru gears up for ‘Swachh Survekshan’
The HinduStunned by the poor ranking when Mysuru slid to 27th place in the Swachh Bharat survey last year, the city authorities are gearing up to regain Mysuru’s place among the cleanest cities of the country. ‘Swachh Survekshan’ for 2025 will commence on February 15 across India and the Mysuru City Corporation has identified the reasons that led to its slide to the 27 position last year. The MCC on Wednesday announced Swacchata ambassadors for Mysuru, who will influence the public and urge them to take pride in their city, take initiatives to keep the city clean, segregate waste at source, launch drives etc. Mruthyunjaya, Assistant Executive Engineer, MCC, and the nodal officer for implementing Swachh Bharat mission, later told The Hindu that the city used to lose out in legacy waste management all these years.
