Cruise liner terminal in Vizag set to be inaugurated in August
The HinduThe cruise liner terminal being jointly built by the Visakhapatnam Port Authority and Union Ministry of Tourism is nearing completion and is likely to be inaugurated in a couple of weeks’ time, with the tentative date being August 21. “We are already in talks with famed cruise liners such as the Mediterranean and Caribbean and this should bring Andhra Pradesh and Visakhapatnam to the international tourism circuit,” said chairman of VPA M. Angamuthu. The total size is around 12,660 sq m, with the state-of-the-art terminal building occupying a built-up area of around 4,580 sq mt. According to A.C. Vikash, superintending engineer of VPA, the ground floor of the terminal building has a built-up area of around 3,074 sq mt and the first floor is about 1,383 sq mt.
