
Vachana Mantapa to come up in Kalaburagi
The HinduRural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Kalaburagi in-charge Priyank Kharge has said that the Vachana Mantapa, a centre dedicated to the study of the Sharanas and their Vachanas, to be built in Kalaburagi will be a landmark that will stand as a beacon of Basava philosophy for generations to come. In his message posted on X on Sunday, Mr. Kharge said that the structure is designed to reflect the essence of social justice, equality and progressive thought that are central to Guru Basavanna’s teachings. It is envisioned to be a hub where scholars, thinkers and followers can come together to study, reflect upon and promote the ideas of the Vachanas which lay emphasis on equality, inclusivity and moral integrity,” Mr. Kharge said in the post. Stating that the philosophies of the Buddha, Basava and Babasaheb Ambedkar are deeply intertwined with India’s socio-political fabric, Mr. Kharge said that their teaching on equality, justice and empowerment continue to inspire and remain highly relevant in today’s world.
