Antony Blinken says Ukraine will become a member of NATO
Daily MailSecretary of State Antony Blinken expressed confidence that Ukraine will become a member of NATO and insisted support for the embattled country and its president Volodymyr Zelensky is 'rock solid.' The former US President previously undermined NATO's collective defense guarantee by saying he'd encourage Russia to attack any members not spending enough on defense - and allegedly said he'd refuse to give 'a penny' to Ukraine. Putin said in February that a direct conflict between Russia and NATO would mean the planet was one step away from World War Three, and has said NATO military assets provided to Kyiv would be legitimate targets for Russia, even if stationed in countries outside Ukraine. There are some leaders within NATO that are likely to speak out against the plans, chief among which is Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban who last month voiced his belief that Trump would 'not give a penny' to Ukraine if he is elected later this year.
