Sridhar Babu Announces MSME Subsidies for Food Processing

KHAMMAM: Minister for IT and industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Thursday said that entrepreneurs would be encouraged by the state government for setting up of food processing units to improve income of the farmers. Along with minister for agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao, he inaugurated TGIIC Mega Food Park at Buggapadu of Satupally mandal in the district.Speaking at a meeting, Sridhar Babu said that value additions to the crops by processing them would increase income of farmers by increasing demand for their produce. He promised to bring the demand of people to set up thermal power plant in Sathupally mandal, he added.Nageswara Rao said that the mega food park would help in increasing horticultural farmers in the district. The location of the mega food park was strategically selected in terms of agriculture, horticulture, fisheries and Poultry crops availability within 150 km of radius.The potential units that may come up within the park are fruits and vegetable processing, beverage units, chilli processing and oleoresin extraction, consumer food products like bakery, confectionery items, maize processing, pulses processing, edible oil extraction, milk and milk based products, dietary supplements and food additives and ready to cook products.
