Andhra Pradesh sets up 13 care centres for children of Covid patients
India TodayThe Andhra Pradesh government has established 13 Child Care Institutions for children whose parents have either contracted Covid-19 and require medical attention, or who have died due to the infection. “Any child or guardian in need of this assistance can contact these helpline numbers, post which the district level team will be sent to the residence of the child and transport the child to the nearest child care institution,” said Krithika Batra, Director of Women development, child welfare and zonal development. The CCI initiative came to the rescue of three siblings from Terennapally village in Anantpur after their father and mother tested positive for Covid-19.
