File Status Report Regarding Action Plan For Sewage Treatment: NGT To Maharashtra Urban Development Department [Read Order]

The National Green Tribunal has directed the Urban Development Department to file a new status report by email regarding the furnishing action plan for sewage treatment for the Trimbakeshwar Municipal Council and for the enhancement of the STP capacity-new scheme STP. Earlier the Tribunal had sought a report from the Secretary, Urban Development Maharastra after taking necessary measures for the proper functioning of STP and to prevent sewage being discharged into the river at Trimbakeshwar, Nasik district in view of the reports filed by the District Collector, Nasik and the State PCB. Subsequently, the Urban Development Department submitted a report for furnishing an action plan for sewage treatment for the Trimabakeshwar Municipal Council and for the enhancement of the STP capacity-new scheme STP. With regard to the report filed by the Urban Development Department, the Tribunal directed for the preponement of the timelines mentioned for administrative approval, completion of work and 100% treatment for the generation of sewage and achieving effluent discharge standards for Sewage Treatment Plants.
