Rural revitalization bears fruit in Shandong

According to Liang Wenyue, deputy director of the Shandong Development and Reform Commission, the province's total grain output reached 53.57 billion kilograms in 2019, contributing to about 8 percent of China's total grain output. "In the first five months of this year, Shandong's export of agricultural products reached 49.63 billion yuan, an increase of 8.4 percent." Official statistics show that the province's rural tourism received 540 million visitors and generated 270.99 billion yuan in revenue last year. Li Xixin, director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that in 2019, the per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 17,775 yuan, an increase of 9.1 percent.
