15,000 stores will close in 2025... but experts reveal why retail is NOT dying

Store closures set to double in 2025 — but experts say retail is evolving, not dying. Retail expert Neil Saunders said that although 15,000 stores are predicted to shutter in America in 2025, Coresight Research revealed that the US will see 15,000 stores close in 2025 However, Saunders said the projected closures do not necessarily mean there is an inherent problem with retail or with stores. Researchers from Coresight claim strong consumer spending during the holiday shopping period last year, as well as improved consumer sentiment suggests 2025 could be a 'robust' year for retail.
