Ranji Trophy: Mumbai announces 16-member squad for must-win match against Meghalaya

Young openers Ayush Mhatre and Angkrish Raghuvanshi returned to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad for its last group league fixture against Meghalaya, starting Thursday. As reported earlier by Sportstar, India internationals Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer won’t be available for the future as they would be preparing for the ODI series against England and are expected to join a camp in Nagpur on February 2, while Shivam Dube is with India’s T20I squad. Placed third in the table with 22 points, Mumbai needs to win with a bonus point against Meghalaya and then wait for the outcome of the game between J&K and Baroda to make it to the knockouts. A five-wicket defeat against J&K in the previous game has worsened matters for Mumbai, but captain Ajinkya Rahane will be hoping for his trusted campaigners to come good against a relatively inexperienced Meghalaya side.
