CMDA to begin ₹20.17 crore redevelopment of 16-acre Chetpet eco-park

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority has started the redevelopment of Chetpet eco-park at an estimated cost of ₹20.17 crore. According to CMDA officials, the redevelopment includes new water sports facilities, musical fountains, bird-viewing decks, new entrance with a tensile roof, a 753 sq.ft-snack bar, sand pit, and activity zones. Further, existing buildings such as the admin block, multi-level parking, fisheries lab, watch tower, handrail along the slope around the lake, and aquarium block, will be renovated. The improvements also include better walkways with new paver blocks, snack area such as a food kiosk, triangular landscaped section, and new amenities such as a photo point, viewing points, children’s play area, gym, recreation and play zone, drinking water, and toilet facilities.
