Kozhikode Corpn. council approves amended annual plan for this fiscal

A special meeting of the Kozhikode Corporation Council on Friday endorsed the amended schemes, including setting aside a sum of ₹4 crore for the construction of houses for persons belonging to the extreme poverty category in the annual plan of the civic body this fiscal. The new schemes have been envisaged so that the funds allotted for their purpose earlier for execution this fiscal would not lapse, said P.C. However, Congress and Indian Union Muslim League members criticised the ruling Communist Party of India for removing the schemes set aside under different categories of the Scheduled Caste welfare at the fag end of the financial year. Some of the new projects included in the amended annual plan were establishing new facilities when the existing central market was demolished and the roofing of the apartments at Kalluthankadavu.
